Amazon Local???

Amazon Local

Why didn’t anybody tell me about Amazon Local? Apparently it’s the world’s best kept secret, as I’m just learning of it — another option for finding things near you at great prices.

Amazon Local is a marketplace of local, community businesses promoting their trade. You use your existing Amazon login credentials. The beauty is, the businesses are local to whatever zip code you enter. It works like Groupon. You pay for things up front and print out a voucher that you present to the vendor. It’ll give you randomly-selectecd available deals for the area you have chosen, or you can do a search for specific things. The prices are pretty true to form along the lines of Amazon’s normal discounted prices, although I did a comparison and a couple of things were priced a little better with Groupon. Most things, though, were much cheaper with Amazon Local. One of the biggest appeals for me is the travel and destinations section. There are some great deals on getaways. Check it out before you book your next hotel. You could save a lot of cash.
